Waste & Recycling
Harden Shire Council operates a kerbside household waste and recycling service for all residents in the township of Harden Murrumburrah on a weekly basis.
Council provides a red lidded bin for household and domestic waste and a yellow lidded bin for recyclables.
Domestic Waste and Recycling Service Collection Times:
•Household waste bins are collected once a week on a Tuesday or Wednesday depending on the location (excluding Public Holidays when they are collected the day after the scheduled pick-up day).
•Recycling bins are collected once a fortnight on a Thursday (excluding Public Holidays).
Bin not collected! What do I do?
Ensure the bin was put out at the correct time, facing the right direction, clear of obstructions. If this is correct contact the Technical Services department on (02) 6386 0100 to arrange pick up.
For excess waste and bulky items Harden Shire operates 3 landfills, with the following operating hours:
Harden Murrumburrah Landfill is open from 9am - 5pm on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday
Galong Landfill is open Thursday and Saturday from 9:30am to 12:45pm
Jugiong Landfill is open Thursday and Saturday from 1:15pm to 4:30pm
