Welcome to Harden Shire Council's webpage Please take the time and take a walk through our historic town and discover many landmarks established in times gone by. The township of Harden Murrumburrah is steeped in history, Murrumburrah being one of the earliest settlements in the South West of New South Wales. Harden was created as a rail centre and developed as a major stopover point for hundreds of daily travellers and also was a railway engineering establishment. The many fine hotels in the township that catered for this trade still operate today and visitors are encouraged to drop in and sample their hospitality.
